In October, World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Nana Gladuish Foundation One of 8 and FANTASTICO call on "Examine yourself.
Take care of yourself!” The campaign aims to draw the public attention to prevention of breast cancer at a time when thousands of screenings have been postponed and even forgotten due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of the initiative, more than 1,500,000 messages calling for women's health care will reach Bulgarian homes with the women purchases through the campaign slogan on the shopping bags in FANTASTICO. The company will donate BGN 0.05 from each bag purchased in the period 1 October – 31 October 2021 in support of Nana Gladuish Foundation One of 8 activities. The funds will be used for breast-screening in various cities and towns of the country, and for information and practical support of women diagnosed with breast cancer.
"Examine yourself. Take care of yourself! ”is the most important message of all the messages we have delivered. Women continue to neglect the examinations by a mammologist, and such an examination can save lives", said Nana Gladuish. The singer Poli Genova also supports the campaign: "For me, this is a personal cause of great importance. Prevention and awareness of women about the diagnosis of breast cancer is of paramount importance and any help is incredibly valuable!”
The initiative will start on 1 October in supermarket FANTASTICO located at G. M. Dimitrov Blvd. in the city of Sofia. The One of 8 pink camper will stay in front of the supermarket from 11.00 a.m. until 8.00 p.m., and the foundation team will meet with anyone who needs information on the symptoms of the most common cancer in women and its prevention. "Everyone who wants to talk to us and to learn more about the diagnosis and how our foundation works and helps people, is welcome. Men are also invited to meet us, since every man has mother, and in most cases wife, sister, daughter and relative", says the founder of One of 8 Nana Gladuish.
The campaign Take care of yourself! Examine yourself! continues the partnership between Nana Gladuish Foundation One of 8 and FANTASTICO, which began in March 2021. More than 1,000 women working in the chain benefited from the free breast screening organised and conducted by the Foundation. With the support of the company, screening was conducted in several cities in the country.
